The birds are chirping, the sun is shining, and it’s GAMEDAY WEEKEND!

NO MORE COUNTDOWNS! 1 MORE DAY UNTIL WE TEE IT OFF BETWEEN THE HEDGES! HOORAY!

Traffic is but an irritance, but nothing can get the Southern Fried Sports Girl down this weekend. It’s a long weekend, and things are looking bright!

Talking to a good friend, Josh, he is a techie. That’s right, I have friends at Georgia Tech, we were band geeks together.

He loves college football, so differences and friendly rivalries aside, we are chatting about the ACC. Tech at Georgia on November 27th. I think the Dawgs will win. No, I know the Dawgs will win. Josh thinks Tech will win. He also thinks Tech will win 9 or 10 games (lofty), with concerns about VT, UGA, and UM. We shall see. That’s pretty solid. Here is where I put Georgia for the 2010 season. ***update: no word on if the NCAA has ruled on that A.J. Green situation. I am unsure if he’s playing or not, but everything I have seen has him in the starting position, so… if you hear anything text me!

The Georgia Bulldawgs
Sanford Stadium
HEAD COACH: Mark Richt
2009 RECORD: 8-5 (INCLUDING BOWL WIN V. TEXAS A&M;)
NEW ADDITIONS: DEFENSIVE COORDINATOR TODD GRANTHAM (and his coordinators)

SEPT. 4 vs. Louisiana-Lafayette WIN
SEPT 11: @ South Carolina WIN
SPET. 18 Arkansas WIN (Just because your quarterback is build like Peyton Manning, doesn’t mean he IS Peyton Manning!)
SEPT. 28 @ Mississippi State WIN
OCT. 2 @ COLORADO WIN

Now things get tricky. I have them 5-0 going into

OCT. 9 TENNESSEE WIN
OCT. 16 VANDERBILT WIN
OCT. 23 @ Kentucky WIN
OCT. 30 FLORIDA (in Jacksonville) Look, I want to win this one more than anyone. I hate, HATE URBAN MEYER. I think he is a cobra in the sand ready to strike. For some reason, he doesn’t like Mark Richt, which I mean, everyone loves a teddy bear, and this angers me. He always has it out for UGA, especially since 2007, when we Eastside Stomped all over their end zone. If Aaron Murray comes of age, it’t going to be in this game right here. Not even an experiences offensive line can help you beat Florida. Ask Peyton Manning. And Florida will be coming off a by-week. So who knows. UGA doesn’t have a by-week until after Auburn.
Regardless, WIN
NOV. 6 IDAHO STATE (homecoming?) WIN
NOV. 13 @ Auburn — another tough, tough game. Auburn is apparently good this year. They are the toughest opponent, to me, that we face out of the SEC WEST (SORRY ARKANSAS) and this makes me nervous. I would love to go undefeated all the way to TECH. That would be really nice, but the team is going to be run down after two and a half months of tough competition. I am going to say this is a LOSS, but wouldn’t be surprised if Georgia lost to Florida and won @ Auburn and won the SEC EAST in a tie-breaker.
NOV. 27 GEORGIA TECH Another game in a good ol’ fashioned rivalry. This games calls for concern to me. Tech is damn good. Paul Johnson is a damn good coach. They beat us at home 45-42, then we beat them last year in Downtown Atlanta (the best and worst place on Earth, depending on your experience) and Bobby Dodd Stadium (A stadium that could be eaten alive if fed to Sanford Stadium). I will say WIN because if we win or lose, and win the SEC with Florida being depleted with graduates but reloaded with 5-star recruits, doesn’t matter to me.

REGULAR SEASON RECORD: 11-1 (REALISTICALLY, 10-2)

SEC CHAMPIONSHIP IN ATLANTA VS. AUBURN (I think Auburn is going to beat Alabama because they hate Nick Saban more than I do.) WIN

SUGAR BOWL vs. Boise State or whatever wack (or WAC literally) or BSC qualifying team gets that spot. I think it will be a glorious season.
